When I bought my car 6 months ago it smelled from I think armor all the black cleaner/polisher still does smell like it. When I take the top off my fingers get black, do you all think this is armor all polish, any opinions on what this black stuff is?

I’ve heard of people using shoe polish on the targa top.

Yep. Probably what it is. I would clean it all off with simple green or something similar and then repaint if needed.

Likely Black Again or similar black trim restorer. Wash or wiper off the best you can.

Could be something on the rubber seals too.
