This looks like a very cool stealth build from Eric Shea and the boys at PMB Performance.....and it's for sale at $39K. It's listed on PMB's facebook account.....there are several videos posted also.
PMB COACHWERKS #008 IS READY FOR A NEW OWNER Life changes and family additions leave the current owner longing for more seat time. Now it’s time for someone else to enjoy this magical, narrow bodied, stroker four that has “all the right stuff”. This is, by far one of our favorite cars, I’d dare say one of our favorite -4’s to come out of PMB Coachwerks. She struggled for a while to find her identity but, she luckily had an owner with a crystal clear vision and what a beautiful vision it was. All around this car there are subtle yet stellar enhancements to handle her every improvement. At PMB we strive for “factory-esq” improvements when they are to be made. Never try to out-think a Porsche engineer. Starting at the nose, the chrome bumper was cut to match the factory 914-6/GT oil cooler cutout. The GT valance was narrowed to meet the stock -4 fenders all lending to a very subtle sledgehammer approach if you know what you’re looking at. Follow that theme into the front trunk and there you find a big oil cooler hanging out in a factory shroud. When you put a cooler where it belongs, it keeps temps in check under the most demanding conditions. The lines come up the passengers side and discretely terminate into a plate that runs them under the headlight bucket into the cooler. A 180° thermostat back at the engine opens once things are warmed up and keeps oil temps below 200°. A 916 style spacesaver spare complements an ultra clean look in the front trunk. She’s wearing her PMB Coachwerks #008 badge with pride. Move further back, let’s find out what we’re keeping cool. You’ll find an amazing, electronically fuel injected 2270 stroker Type 4 mounted midship with Jenvey throttle bodies and classic 356 stainless steel air filters topping things of. A CFR/Tangerine Racing header, exhaust and heat exchanger make sure she breaths freely. Again subtle touches reside. The stock charcoal filter still keeps fuel fumes in check as they’re routed into the top of each filter. The 356 filters give it that distinctive “Porsche” look and feel. The EFI keeps things in check monitoring exhaust gasses, manifold pressure, barometric pressure, intake air temperature, throttle position and digests it all for optimum fuel delivery. This is not your dads 914. What’s next? The transmission, that’s what. Totally rebuilt and this one has a special treat, we had a true 16,000 mile gear stack just “lay’n around” and it was truly a thing of beauty. The gears still had fresh hash marks from machining! New clutch and, Chris from CFR/Tangerine to the rescue again with one of their stellar side sift linkage kits combined with a spherical firewall bushing. She shifts like a dream. All new. New Bilstein shocks all around and elephant bushings make this 914 feel like it came right off the lot in 73. Of course you’re looking at PMB Performance calipers all the way around with 320i units up front and late 914 rears out back. New Porterfield AP109 R4-S pads do the dirty work up front while AP124 R4-S pads hang out in the rear. Do you think there’s a new PMB pressure regulator in this car? You are correct. Wrapping up brakes and suspension, the owner has two sets of wheels and tires which both look outrageously good on this package. Meticulously refinished steelies sporting, what else? a “Slate Grey” finish or, our favorite for the Porsche factory look, 2.0 Fuchs with new tires all around. Step inside. New dash, New door panels. New carpet. New backpad. New seat upholstery. Coco mats. Appearance group center console with (mandatory) Dakota Digital CHT gauge in place. It just needs you to turn the key and get acquainted with 914 bliss. All of the metalwork has been done on this California car less than two years ago. This is truly a rust free (as in, no rust not, no charge for the rust) 914. She was then meticulously body worked and shot with her factory “Light Ivory” coating. Light Ivory is just off the hook stunning, sexy and sophisticated when matched with the semi-gloss black bits from the factory. We love this color. ❤️❤️❤️ Okay, let’s put an end to the hyperbolic chatter and get to that “must have” punch list you scrolled down here for: Stats and Details: 2270 Stroker Engine (Raby Kit) MicroSquirt EFI Stainless 356 Air Filters Rebuilt Side-Shift Transmission New Sachs Clutch New CFR/Tangerine Racing Shift Linkage Kit New Stainless Fuel Line Front Oil Cooler in GT Shroud CFR/Tangering Racing Headers, Silencer, Heat Exchanger Tarrett Engineering Adjustable Front Sway Bar New Bilstein Shocks/ Struts Turbo Tie Rods 140# Rear Springs BMW 320i Front Caliper, 914 Rear Calipers, rebuilt by PMB Performance Rebuilt PMB Performance Pressure Regulator Porterfield R4-S Pads all Around Slate Grey Steel Wheels & 2.0 Fuchs GT Engine Lid Metal, Bodywork Performed by PMB Coachwerks (no rust on this car). That is a well sorted build and I love the "sleeper" look. Someone is going to really enjoy that car. Well done PMB. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

This car belongs to a friend of mine. We actually met when he reached out to me for assistance after he first acquired it. I will be very sad to see it go. That being said whoever buys this is getting a A LOT for the money.
Descriptions, pictures, and videos do not do this car justice. Despite being built to be a completely understated sleeper this car really stands out in a crowd, even a crowd of other PMB cars. When I first saw this car (before it went to PMB) I thought it was a really good looking car, but what came back blew me away. What you see here is basically the result of two perfectionists (the owner and Eric) along the lines of "Looks like there was a previous touch up in the paint here, lets fix it by taking the whole car to bare metal and doing it right!" and that sentiment applied to pretty much everything that went into this car. I think i could best describe this car as "keeping as close to the original 4-cylinder factory concept as possible while giving it the absolute best of everything on top of that" somewhat of an evolution to what the factory delivered. I could go on and on about everything on this car, but again its something that just has to be experienced to fully appreciate. |

Give me a couple of months though. I like Eric's work. I think he should put the 2.0 fuchs on it....IMHO. Reminds me of my 73 in Ivory White. I have not seen it or heard of it since it was sold. |
