Hello everybody,
I recently replaced the roller and input shaft bearings in my gearbox. its still making some noise when letting the foot off the gas rapidly at low speeds but overall seems to be better than before. I used 80w90 oil and it seemed better when cold ,then it did when warm, so I thought I could give a try to 85w90 . I think its about the same, maybe a bit stiffer , I could even say the car feels lazier with it. My logic said that if it works better cold it likes a bit thicker oil in it... Another question is, what kind of noise should it make in neutral with the car stopped with the clutch disengaged? It makes when warm an almost impossible to notice sound difference when the clutch is engaged . Ofcourse 10 gears spinning together can't be totally silent I suppose. Should I give a shot too 75w90? I specified that swepco is not available here because I am located in Europe. Thanks |
