Interesting. The unrestored early model -4 ones I've seen are all "exhaust grey" and not painted body color?

Thanks guys. This is a quite excellent group of people here.
My -6 shield was soda blasted today, and I needed to know which epoxy primer color to use. The color on it looked like baked exhaust... sortof like a baked potato.

I have to look at a car I know that is very original.....but very dirty.
On my first 6 I wire brushed it and had it plated zink chromate

possibly better to have it ceramic coated to better reflect the heat away from the trunk. One race car I saw had the taillight housings melted.
