What is the color name/code of your 914-6?
One source states the color code for 6’s to be four digits. |

This is complicated. Some very early cars have 4 digits or more like 9140430033 had 29/29 L.
up to 9141430395 most had just two digits on the badge. Past that VIN most had the 4 digit VW code beginning with L. The factory documents like the CoA will show 4 digits ending with 10 which signified a black roof; but since all except 916 had the removable roof the 10 was redundant. see this thread for badge photos: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=356626 |

Read the second post carefully-the VIN has a '1' after the 914 indicating 1971 models. Can't just go by the last 5 digits

When people post something like "I have #374" they always mean '70. If the car is a '71 or '72, people do include that info. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) |
