Porsche is telling me they cannot register my '76 914 as the VIN is only 10 digit and too old.
Has anyone else here successfully registered your 914 with myporsche.com? GN |

Thanks for the correction Rev. I was shooting from hip by memory.
Really strange that it did accept yours. I had my.porsche.com staff on chat, and they tried directly a number of times, brought in management who said their database is not set up for the 10 digit numbers. Really strange then they had no problem registering my '80 924 Turbo as it has a 10 digit VIN. They said the porsche.com database IS set up to handle them, but that they are two different databases that are not connected. GN It accepted mine. Make sure there are no spaces. And for everyone vexxed, it's not "myporsche.com" it's http://my.porsche.com/. |

Pending approval. When I say no spaces, make sure the VIN doesn't have a space after the number. If you're copy/pasting from elsewhere, it inserts a space. Back that off. |

Thanks. Never had any spaces. Entered all digits manually.
I will pass this on to them.....but wondering what it means, "Being Processed".....???? GN (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i.imgur.com-25787-1637618589.1.png) Pending approval. On a side note....My local Texas DMV inspection always had a hard time with the safety inspection until they realized just add 0's plus the vin to add up to 17 digits . Never had a problem after that.

Is it an affiliate of PCA and what is the registry all about? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |
