Hey all!
Doing the timing on the teener and would just like to have something clarified. I am using the PP article and in there it says to make sure the hoses to the advanced are disconected on the 1.7 and 1.8. What is not clear to me is should they be disconected when timing the 2.0lt engine. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) (1974 if it matters). Thanks all for looking and I appreciate all replies. Cheers, Dominic. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif) |

Correct--they should be disconnected when setting the timing on any 914-4 engine. It's not a bad habit to plug the hoses when you do this, but it isn't strictly necessary for the 1.7 or 2.0 engines. It is for the 1.8s.
