Hey all,

Thinking about parting ways with my beloved 914. Life is a little different now from when I got it and it really doesn't see the outside of the garage as much as i'd like it to. Below is a list of projects completed since I got the car in the summer of 2018. It's a 1970 PNW car that came with Riviera wheels, Duck tail and Rear window defrost.

New since car was purchased in 2018
-Wiring harnesses for Engine and Ignition (Jeff Bowlsby and 914rubber)
-123 Distributor
-Coil, Spark Plugs and Wires
-Battery Tray and Right side Engine Tray Sheet metal (aka HELL HOLE repair!)
-Thermostat, Thermostat Cable
-Cylinder Head Temp Sensor
-o2 bung welded onto exhaust for tuning
-Stainless Fuels lines front to back (plastic lines removed)
-Modern fuel pump relocated to front trunk
-Fuel Injectors serviced
-Fuel tank sock
-Fuel Filter
-Throttle Cable
-Shifter bushings front to back
-Engine Seals replaced (clean garage floor under motor)
-Vacuum lines front to back
-Exhaust surround fresh air hoses
-Engine bay rain tray (914 Rubber)
-Trickle Charger
-Front and Rear Rotors and Pads with Rebuilt Calipers
-19mm Master Cylinder
-Rubber brake hoses
-Rear Suspension, 914rubber Springs, Bilstein Struts, 914rubber Trailing Arms and Bushings
-Front Suspension 914rubber Bushings and Bilstein Struts
-Tie Rods
-Front and Rear wheel bearings
-Electric washer fluid pump conversion and lines
-Pedal cluster wooden board
-Transmission flush
-Speedometer Input Shaft and Seal kit (914rubber)
-Stainless Wheels with 914 Hub Caps (Original Rivieras included)
-Plastic dash cover
-Carpet set (not installed)
-Custom 914 embroidered floor mats
-Sun visors
-JVC BT Stereo with 4 Rockford Fosgate Speakers, 914rubber speaker housings, Microphone and Blaupunkt Subwoofer
-Cellphone holder (Modded ash tray with cell phone holder)
-Center Console with Speakers, Cupholder and Sub Control (Not OEM, All removable)
-Cigarette lighter/12v power outlet
-LED bulbs for gauges
-Turn signal lenses (front and side)
-Dome light lens and switch
-Door switches for dome light
-Car Cover

Rebuilt/Replaced
-Rebuilt Brake Calipers
-Replaced AAR Valve
-Rebuilt Manifold Pressure Sensor (Tangerine Racing kit, now tunable on car)
-Rebuilt Pedal Cluster with Brass Bushings
-CV joints serviced with safety wired bolts
-Converted to later model air intake with paper gasket (Original oil air filter housing included)
-Bursch Exhaust
-Driver door deposit box sourced and installed
-Valves adjusted and fresh valve cover gaskets

Compression Checks
#1/120 #2/128 #3/125 #4/135

The paint is a respray from a prior owner in original tangerine. It still shines although has some imperfections and chips. The interior seats could use new covers at some point. I have re covered the seat bottoms with black vinyl coverings.

Prior owner had transmission Rebuilt and new clutch installed. I would estimate 3000 miles on those components but not sure.

What do you guys think this car is worth, ball park? Understanding it's not a 2.0 etc but i've invested an awful lot of time into the car and as you guys very well know some of these parts and repairs were not cheap! (or fun!)

My guess is in the $20.k range, could be more or less depending on an actual hands on visit. GLWS

The secret is to change your lifestyle so that you use the car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) rather than selling it.

Food for thought....you'll never be able to replace this 914 with another for what you sell this one for AND the replacement 914 probably won't be as reliable and "ready to drive" as you've made this one.

Of course, this only matters if you are like the majority of peeps here with 914's being a way of life. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I do not believe you could get $20,000 for it without fixing it up a little more and I have no idea how the rust repairs are done. Without eyeballing 6it in high rez pix it looks good to me at the 20 foot level.

My thinking is if you did some fixing up like at minimum, redo the seats and replace the door panels.

Not sure if it is worth a new dash but when people see a nice interior it is so much easer to sell the car. If you put $3,000 - $3,500 of interior, you will get that money back and it will sell much faster as
Lots of people have no imagination and cannot see it done

I cannot say how much it could bring but people seem to pay more for later cars. On any given day people may pay more
