My opinion: I think the stock finish is better but I understand that some people just want to be different even if it’s not better. This does look better than the half black and half polished.

I think I prefer it to the black petals or black background with polished petals.
Thanks for the pic! |

PS. I did satin black powder coating to give nice contrast with the polished lip.

After being given a hard time at a car show by a buddy of mine because my 997 had brake dust all over the wheels I went and cleaned off my older black centered wheels….which were covered in it.
All cleaned up the black wheels look the same as when they have dust all over them. I am a complete convert now ….so I never really need to clean black centered satin finished wheels! |

Purchased a roller that had them on. Wanted to try them on my car before I decided to sell them. This was that day.

This reminds of the stock wheels on my 2016 GTI. The spokes have black paint in all the places where brake dust accumulates, and they're machined aluminum where dust doesn't accumulate. I think they were literally designed to minimize the appearance of brake dust. It's saved me countless hours in cleaning and I'll never put on aftermarket rims unless they have the same feature. |

In the 80s I had a black ‘74 with stock steel wheels. I painted the centers black and left the lips silver……looked great.
