Thought I would pass this along since Blaupunkt side mounts are few and far between. You might want to try this option. Cages are only about $20 shipped. They have many fingers that are bendable so you can lock your radio in. They support more than just the corners and take the stress off the radio shafts. Radio in picture is short style Blaupunkt.

In my car, the installer of the aftermarket head unit used a piece of plumber's strapping (the stiff-but-bendable stuff used to strap water heaters in place) to hold up the back of the unit to the underside of the dash. That may also help take some of the load off the face of the radio.
