Put the key in it and pull it out. Are uyou replacing that black plastic trim ring? If it is one Curt had made you don't need to pull anything. It slips on in place. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Thanks. No trim piece I did try putting the key in, turning it and pulling. Nada, should the key be twisted ? I’ll try pulling harder next time’ |

There is a spring tab holding it in. You need to drill a hole in the correct spot to push the tab in to release the lock. Use the new lock to locate where the hole needs to be.

The pictures really helped: Turned out there was a hole already drilled, all I had to do was push down on the spring and the lock pulled out. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Jim, what was your reason for pulling out the switch? I wanted to save the switch after completely removing the entire switch assembly. I previously installed a switch on the left side and didn’t need the original assembly. After the column assembly was removed a new clam shell was installed. These pics might help Attached thumbnail(s) |

Left side:
The original switch will be a back up in the event the left side switch fails. All I would need to do is unplug the dead switch and plug into the new spare Attached thumbnail(s) |

Ok, I want to get my wheel lock working again. If’n I can’t figger it, I’ll likely send it off to Mr. Curtiss.
Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |
