Help! My red '74 has a headlight issue. The plastic push rod that came from 914rubber has come off the post (i put back on for the photo). The other day it slipped off and my light closed while driving at night. You can see it has a little "bend" to it. I thought there might be a locking grove on the post where I could prevent this from happening. Didn't see one. There's a grove and c-clip on the motor side, why not here? How'd it work from the factory? @Mikey914 , what am I missing here? Parts? Thanks in advance.

Ian Karr's video here should help. Check the bushings.

Thanks! It looks like the plastic washer doesn't belong and my pivot might be backwards. Unfortunately, Ian hadn't produced this video yet when I was doing this stuff. Otherwise, this wouldn't have been a problem. Going to flip the plastic arm around and reinstall. That plastic washer looks like it comes from 914 Rubber's early headlight kit. Not sure. Everything should line up. That way its pushing perpendicular. Also if the bucket got jambed, the nylon is supposed to deform to take the load off the motor. You may be aboe to straighten it, if that is oart of the issue.

The nylon washers are also intendend to help line it up.
Do notice the arm has a washer soacer in the part, so with the washer on the same side that coukd be part of the issue too.
