To make a standard Porsche 914 fit for the rally, it takes some effort. The engine is tuned from 120 hp to 220 hp and the track is widened and shock absorbers and chassis are adjusted.

1:10 - using lead to fill the main weld seams. Knew a guy who could do that, what an art.

Awesome video! I do lead work somewhat regularly. The things I noticed were that the fender were lap welded with a spot welder, then leaded, then some kind of poly-filler. I was always under the impression that the joints were gas welded and metal finished.

Was this some kind of race team? I don't think the factory would have done it that way, but I'm not that familiar with GT bodied cars.

I can't imagine the factory lap welding, leaded then filled with putty

For those familiar, how did the factory do it? Were the fender pressed with the GT flares or were they added?
