Has anyone any experience with this system from Red Motorsports?

I don't have an issue and don't plan on buying one, just wondering if anyone here has first hand experience.

No experience with theirs

Used to run an inner tube in the rear trunk
Electric pump, old 914 washer nozzle, and a switch

This was for sprint races in a type 4 back in the 90’s
Great for head temps on a hot day
About 15 minutes of life from an inner tube with 7? Maybe more gallons

I think for a bus its a fantastic idea.

I don't know if its necessary for a 914.

But for a bus, especially a Westy, and you are loaded with camp gear and climbing up a mountain - its a fantastic idea to help keep the heads cool.

I'd like to see some real world testing/data with one of these installed.
I can't see why to pre-order until proven. For now, it's just a "cool" idea.

I've often thought of use of one of these misting nozzles used in restaurant outdoor venues to spray a minute quantity of water. A tiny water quantity would big a big help in extreme heating conditions. Would need a high pressure pump.
I don't need it for my situation.

Imagine this system has a restriction to reduce the amount of water. Make it last longer

Back at the time. I assumed more water equals more cooling

At 1st glance I though this was about a turbo'ed intake injection ala methanol, But do I understand this simply is a system to spray water topically on the engine to "cool" it?
So in an air cooled car, you now need a some additional electronics & a water reservoir for a controller water leak?

Grady Clay used to recommend a similar system for 911s doing track events on hot summer days. He called it the Rubbermaid solution. Basically a bladder with something squeezing it, spraying through a windshield nozzle into the fan. Sounds similar to what brant describes above. Supposedly lowered the heads temps and oil temps measurably.

On an E production, vintage 2 ltr, I ran a windshield washer nozzle pointed into the fan. Water came from cool suit tank. I used a throttle switch for wide open trigger and later added a shifter mounted switch to really cool it on the cooldown lap. No data logger but it helped. We got 5 years from same set of main bearings using a 7600 rev limiter and 11.5 compression So I don’t think it overheated but I did learn to fill the cooler completely. Miss those days!!
