Just a technical service bulletin for folks using 'Header Wrap...make sure that the mfg of this product will warranty the exhaust system from corrosion, disintegration of the steel* / as mfg's (including MSDS,inc.) do not cover the product loss.
*Also known as IGC, intergranular corrosion. With header wrap the issue is also increased by trapping moisture + heat soak with no exit path but being trapped.

I never thought about that….I already wrapped mine because as you can see, even with making a custom bracket to get my clutch cable off of the headers, it’s still very close. Before I made the bracket the clutch cable was only able to go in between the two header pipes, at least now it’s off to one side. Still going to try and push it off to the side some more before my first fire up.

I am going to get something like this (link) then wire tie it in place. I may use some wrap on my muffler to cover up my ugly welds

My $.02

The steel will seem to crystallize and break like glass, usually under severe use... Why race headers are made from stainless, inconel.

Yeah I use stainless steel on most all of my other builds, but I couldn’t find a header in stainless that wasn’t well over 2 grand and I’ve blown my budget on this car by double what’s it’s probably worth, and that’s just on parts. I’ve done All the labor…lol.
Hopefully that nice ceramic coating holds up for at least 10 years or so. My Jeep exhaust is ceramic coated steel and I had it wrapped for the past 11 years and it’s still going pretty decently. When I tore it apart last year to put a full stainless system on it from the headers back, I unwrapped the headers and they did have a good amount of those white colored crystals and rust on it. Had to wire wheel them down and recoated them with ceramic header spray made by VHT. Wrapped them up again with fresh Kevlar header wrap and hope to get another 10 years out of them. Being down here in Florida, it really helps!!
