I am fortunate to have two 914-6 engine-side mounts. They seem identical, save a slot. Does anyone know which is correct and why one has a slot? I don't think it was a weight saving mod. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Maybe different model years? Early vs late?

Maybe the slot was to add clearance for something? Or, maybe removing the slot was a cost-savings step?

I have a few 6 mounts as well. I'd have to dig them out and see if any have the slot in them. I believe the slot was added to the mount so the pulley timing marks could be seen ?? You'd still have to use a mirror or have the firewall cutout to actually see it. And yes I know the 6 has timing marks on the flywheel. Lol. Maybe a GT added feature?
