I have my 914/SBC project going and having a great time driving it.
The SBC came with everything to adapt and install it into the 914 so i went that direction to see how I would like the driving this car. I come from the off road world and would never chose a cast iron SBC to power a sand car. I have used a Honda J35 V-6 and an LS-3 with great results. I am considering re-powering this 914 with the Honda V-6 and could not find much when googling. Is there a reason the Honda V-6 is not being used more often? I refer to the Honda as a poor mans LS that has adequate power and less weight. Thanks for your consideration Highroad2 |

Better yet, done by one of our own. Mike doesn't frequent this site much these days but I can get you in touch with him. BYW, this is the engine swap I'd do if I was looking to start a new swap build.

Basically the Subaru 2.5/turbo swap is cheaper & easier plus you get an upgraded trans.
But I loved driving my Nissan vq30 swap, and have looked into mounting the Subaru trans to a vq35. 2x the power and no added weight is fun. |

Then proceeded to get it to a state in which it always overheated. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) Harry and a few of his buddies said that it ran like a scalded asses cat when Harry owned the car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |
