Hi folks I purchased a new fuel tank and used fittings and new fuel lines from the tank the the lines in the tunnel. any advise on how to properly install the 2 fuel tank fittings/curved tubes and lines on the the fuel tank so they wont leak? Thank you. I have small cardboard gaskets that the guy included with the tank tubes. Maybe should i also use pipe dope on the fittings? And I'm not sure which line from the fittings goes to which line that goes through the tunnel. If they are different sizes, that may make it apparent. the motor hasn't run in 40 years but spins. I changed the oil and trans oil, ill have the injectors serviced try to clean the lines out maybe a valve adjustment. any other ideas? thanks folks car is a 74 2.0 59k orig miles - all original D-jet system in place. thanks again

The correct & only sealant necessary is the OE type "fiber" washers.
Not sure what cardboard seals you have. Just make sure the tank & aluminum nut threads are good. The inlet tube is the one with tapered tube end, do you have a new filter screen to fit over its end? |
