Friday night I took an unexpected ride in an ambulance. I was having severe chest pains and 3 nitro pills didn't help, so 911 was called.

A stent was installed on Tuesday and I feel much better. This is stent #3. Two in my heart and one in my carotid artery.I should be fully recovered in a week or two. Luckily, I did not have a heart attack. Only angina pains.

If you have any chest pains, I urge you to call 911 immediately. Time is truly of the essence. Don't be the tough, stubborn guy. Make the call. My brother and I are the oldest men in the Curtis family back 19 generations. My dad had a massive coronary failure at 56. Luckily for me, mom is 100 and comes from a long line of centenarians.

Glad you pulled through without more severe consequences. Good warning to all.
I remember years ago my mom was complaining of swollen ankles. She told my sister who was a nurse she would go to a doctor the next day. My sister insisted she get to an emergency room ASAP as she recognized the symptom as congestive heart failure. Your advise of dont be the tough guy should be taken seriously.

Happy to hear that you're still with us buddy, you know you get to this point where something's going on and question whether you should call for an emergency or not.
No mussel damage is so important, my pops had its first heart attack 49. Had a four way bypass, this is back in 74, lived for another 19 years
Stay healthy my friend,

Best Bob B

WOW glad you got there in time and it didnt close up on you and cause any damage!!

I fully concur with your recommendation and Bruce's that you don't take a chance dont wait, I almost waited too long and barely walked thru the door before collapsing and being resuscitated by the way i had angina symptoms that felt like indigestion for 4-5 hours before i went in, and should have been there sooner i could have prevented the full out heart attack i ended up having!

I strongly suggest getting the Cardiac CT as one screening tool, you could be asymptomatic and have severe restrictions.

Glad you are doing well !!

This was a quadruple bypass artery from my leg in 2005(99% blocked}. I had a heart attack on 1980 that did some damage, and a stent in my widow maker last September. It was also 99% blocked. Another of my bypassed arteries is completely blocked, but a secondary artery has now formed so it's clean.

yikes!! well 1980 to now that's a long time, 40 years WOW you must have been pretty young when you had that bypass? , my initial issue was my widow maker too, no bypass, just had a congenital anomaly small LAD that was collapsing and i had that collateral circulation that developed too, but when it spasmed shut that day i also had the full out heart attack ischemia damage to the septum and apex due to the loss of flow until the rolled me in and did the angioplasty, and thus a stint. good news was last year on the scans etc my LAD and the stint still fully clear and open , and the CT had been good so no plaquing build up BUT did a nuclear scan and found a 90% in Right Coronary (this was December 2023) so now i have also stent in right as well, -crazy! but last year's check up showed both still clear nothing new or no additional blockage or build up. Trying to do all the right things man i need these to stay clear, id like to be around for another 30 years! Need to get my $$ out of my 914 lol.

Holy crap Curt! Glad you came out ok.

I get the family thing, its scary stuff. My Dad was 60 when we lost him to heart issues. Lost my older brother when he was 13 from a congenital heart issue as well. Ive always lived accepting that its probably in my future as well and that future may not be far off. Medical science has come a long way though so hoping I can break the trend.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and many more good years.
