Hi,
We're visiting the LA Lit & Swap meet next February and will be taking in all the shop tours but I was wondering is there anywhere in ,or around, LA where I can buy 914 parts?
Of course I know about Pelican, Sierra Madre, etc but is there anyone else like Auto Atlanta there?
Cheers

Ian

Oh man. Back in the day (80s) LA was a hotbed of VW Beetle related speed shops with retail showrooms. Mostly focused on T1 and Bug stuff but there was always enough overlap to Bus T4 engines find goodies like transparent distributor caps, color matched plug wires, breather boxes, etc.

I’m betting that is all long gone in favor of the on-line warehouse model.

Hopefully you’ll get some insight from the SoCal locals.

Beverly Hills Auto Club (in City of Industry) is very cool and usually has a few 914s for sale, though not parts, at times there are 50-60 911s as well 10-20 356s, I saw a speedster there, a '56 a few years ago in patina, with 35k on the odometer. all original - 225k

There are hundreds of old high end cars there - every time I am in LA i go there - they are very good about you walking around on your own - all inside, very cool

Go to the swap meet the day after the lit show. It is at Empi in Anaheim.
I will be there with lots of parts. If you have time you can visit me in Riverside which in I la d of LA by about 70 miles.

Pelican and Sierra Madre have open houses. That would be the best places for new parts. I don’t know if Empi sells direct to the public for new parts.
As Bruce mentioned, the swap meet would be the best place for used 914 parts. Lots of good deals!!
