Gotta love some of the colors from days past, these days it seems as though several shades of gray or white or black are the norm

spotted my old mate bc's original crayford UK converted 73 2.0 in a video of some porsche day in sydney recenty. still survives in very good condition by looks of it. saturn yellow metallic or as you americans say (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) - delphi green.

top colors on all the 914s. and.......all the greens sure are nice. specially with a brown interior. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

bit of minutia for you StarBear. Z G was called "forest green" in UK/Commonwealth english speaking countries. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

marketing! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

most of the other colors had the same name as USA.
but another was saturn yellow. called chrome yellow here.
alaska blue metallic was called ocean blue metallic.
all exactly the same colors.

i have a 73 color brochure that came with the car when i bought it.
oddly enough its a 73 uk brochure. given my car is a 74.
i think the original owners who were govt. employees in washington d.c. picked up the brochure in europe, either in london or germany on holiday there in the year before they decided to buy/order the car. its always been tucked in the owners manual.
they didn't buy off the showroom floor, they ordered it. basically a base 1.8 but with the factory sway bar option ticked. slightly unusual.
