914World Classifieds Rules
We've established the following rules to help make your sales/purchases as successful as possible!
- Please List WTB:, FS:, TRADE: etc (want to buy, for sale, and trade respectively) before your add title.

- If you'd like to bump your ads, feel free to do so every two days.
- DO NOT MAKE YOUR ADS IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS! It's considered rude.
- All eBay ads belong in the eBay category.
- Please consolidate your ads into one big lump... listings and pictures together in one thread. Please be considerate of other classified users!!
- Mark your items "SOLD" once you sell them. Please do not ask to have ads removed. Ads will automatically hide themselves after 30 days. We also ask that you leave your pricing in the ads to help others determine fair market value for future sales.

Looks like I'm gonna have to rebuild a transmission or two, whether completely or partially (I'm hoping the later).. anyone got the videos for doing so or helpful tools to accomplish this, they'd want to sell?

It all depends on what is your definition of rebuild.
If you are looking at a referesh, get Dr Evil's video. If you plan on fully rebuilding the gearboxes, watch these very detailed and well made videos on YouTube: Klassik Automotive Training School on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-QKVY9o4NU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fE_esA2Piw4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-QKVY9o4NU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fu3iBJKfvzs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keNZ7j_bxI0 Tools; combination of make and buy. Dr. Evil shows a few example for a refresh. If you are doing the full rebuild, harder to find and more expensive tools are required (pinion depth, backlash and preload). With these gearboxes being 50 years old, chances are someone has been in there. Can you trust the existing gasket thickness which sets the pinion depth and impacts the backlash as being the correct one? Not sure I would... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Good luck with your project. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) I refershed two gearboxes in the past using Dr.Evil's video. A lot more fun than derusting a 914. Next gearbox, I plan on going the full deal based on the Klassik series. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |
