I assume something is meant to mount in the holes found on the rear trailing arm tabs. Can someone clarify or offer a picture?

It seems like a good place for a parking brake cable clamp, but I'm not seeing anything in the parts catalog or my photos from before disassembly.

I just went and looked at mine, the only bracket anywhere near that position is for the caliper parking brake cable and it looks quite different. Also, what is that shaft in the picture that appears to go to the trailing arm?

I am assuming you mean the e brake cable? That mounts into the hole on the trailing arm, or are you looking at the hard line going to the brake caliper?

I agree with you, I do not have one on my passenger side, but do have something similar but with just 1 hole on my driver side arm.

But the six bracket was on the body. This is just some random bracket. Cut it off, grind it smooth and paint it over.

Thanks for taking a look. The "shaft" is the hard brake line to the caliper.

I have something similar on the drivers side.

This is a 1970 914-6 if it matters.

Found an underside photo of a 914-6 with the brake cable attached to that trailing arm tab. My '74 does not have the tabs on the trailing arms. Anyone have the tab dimensions to help replicate them? Length, width, hole location?
