Heads-up for fellow teeners: Blaupunkt’s new “Frankfurt Stereo” is coming

I came across this and thought others might be interested.
Blaupunkt is launching the Frankfurt Stereo retro car radio (expected Spring 2026). It’s styled like a 1970s unit, so it should look right at home in a 914 dash, but it still includes modern features like A 3″ Digital Colour Display, DAB+, FM/AM, Bluetooth streaming and hands-free, USB/AUX, and multi-channel pre-amp output.

The form factor and styling look era-correct with the black face, chrome trim, rotary knobs, and push buttons. Could be a nice option for anyone wanting a stock-looking setup with modern functionality.

I see the LMKUU preset buttons.

An EU market-only item?

I see the LMKUU preset buttons.

Those came to the US as well, in some European cars. My dad had one in his Karmann Ghia.

It's for switching bands. They represent German words for different bands of radio. Long Wave, Medium Wave, (I don't Know) Wave, and Ultra Wave.

I seem to recall that USA AM radio was the "M" band and USA FM was the U. I don't think we ever did long wave here.

Edit: Googlez for the win...

U = 87-100 MHz FM equivalent Ultrakurzwelle (ultra short wave) very high frequency
K = Short Wave Kurzwelle Short wave
M = 520-1640 KHz AM equivalent Mediumwelle Medium wave
L = 150-340 KHz Langwelle Long wave

I have a feeling this is going to be a pricey unit.

But good move by Blaupunkt.
