A question for the experts here(or anyone who knows the answer).. how do these pieces attach to the steering column/ clamshell? Do they just slide in ? I can’t seem to make them stay. 70 914/6.

Sorry I can't help with the "how". But I need a set of those. Are yours factory or did you find them reproduced? And if repro, where? Thanks for any help.

They should have a slot at the base that slides into the dash face

These are OEM , I think. Came with the car.

Thanks, Perry. Was able to figure it out from your response. the vinyl had covered up the metal prongs that I needed to use to secure the trim.
