WTB: a pair of late front bumper guards. Rubber needs to be in good shape, mounting bolts on back will be removed so those can look rough.
A while back a member shared a pic of their 914 with a 73-74 front bumper w/ late front bumper (75-76) guards. I made a mental note because I thought that it looked better than the bigger original “buck teeth” looking front bumper guards on 73-74 cars. But I didn’t screenshot the pic or bookmark the page for future reference. If anybody has a pic of this setup can you please share? Do the holes match up on both versions and are they the same shape on the back where they slate w/ the bumper? I’m talking about these late model front bumper guards: |

The holes DO NOT match up. Require re-drilling . Only CA and MD had those guards.

I made a pair that would work. First, I cut off the studs. Then I cut two recessed in each
Rare earth magnets were epoxied in each recess. Now, just hold the rubber bumper guard where you want it. They are on very tight. Can post pics tomorrow |

I made my license plate magnetic too; that way I can clean behind it.
Those 4 rare earth magnets are very strong; I have to use both hands and pull hard to release it ! Great for polishing behind the licens plate. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Thanks for sharing those pics, Jim. I just changed this post to a WTB post since I mistakenly started it in the Classifieds section instead of the Garage section.
