I have two roofs I need to refinish - they don't have to be absolutely stock looking but I'd like to get close.. so if anyone has ideas other than a schutz application, I'm all ears.

Otherwise, anybody have one (gun) to rent out? TIA.

I did mine with a HVLP gun with a 2.0 tip. I thinned Raptor bed liner and tinted it black. I was able to get an even but textured enough finish. It came out nice.

I had used a schutz gun on the bottom of my car. I found it to be quite course and harder to control. I wished I had used a HVLP gun. It’s a nicer finish IMO.

Also… the schutze gun I used was free… it came with the raptor kit I used. So probably not the best quality.

I’ve seen some good ones who used bed liner spray cans.

I also went with the Raptor product. I think it came out great. The color is still good after 5 years. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I've got an extra one that I've actually never used. You can have it. You interested? I'll send pics as soon as I get out to my shed. Stand by. I'll update with photos.

Found it! I had originally purchased two but just never used this one.

The guns can be had online for only like $30 or so, want to say that when I got the Wurth Schutz. it came with the gun.

Words of advice -- test your spray outs on cardboard or something to adjust the amount of material you're blasting out -- takes a little adjusting to get it right and if you're doing spray outs on something like cardboard you can compare it to the "known good" OE finish. Did a spare roof a couple years back and it came out perfect! I have two spares I'd offer up for free to anyone who wants to do some testing before they do their own roofs.

Good Luck!!
