What diameters and quantity will I need to replace all my vacuum hoses. There appear to be various sizes on first glance. Is this something that will be delineated in the Haynes I am picking up on Tuesday at the stealership. Vacuum lines, a new Bosch Blue coil and petronix are going to be the first things I do, after changing engine and transaxle oil, and flushing the brake fluid of course.

dave darling's vaccum line tech article at the bird gives all the sizes and lengths. good diagram too. i printed it out yesterday. if you're going to flush the brake fluid, get speed bleeders for all four corners.

After checking out the DD vacuum hose diagram, it appears that there are about 15 feet of the 12 mm ID hose, can this be correct, are there really three different 36" sections?

Yes and no... The lengths were what was on my car, plus a "fudge factor". I suggest measuring the lengths of the hoses on your car--or run some string along the approximate hose routing, and measuring that. Add some fudge factor for mistakes, and there you go.
The diameters listed are the diameters of the fittings the hoses go on. Actual hose IDs are generally going to be a little bit smaller. --DD |

At the PP site it lists the hoses by sizes in diagram, I suppose to avoid confusion. I want to replace everything rubber under the hood, just in case, won't do injector seals unless it is whistling at me, but those are getting done too eventually.
