First time post for me. I had the bright idea to replace the entire (original) brake system on my ‘74 914. This required removal and replacement of the emergency brake cables. I’m stuck how to navigate the new cable through the bracket that acts as a stop for the cable ferrule as it routes to the caliper. The end of the cable that attaches to the caliper won’t pass through the bracket, and i can’t remove the adjusting bolts from the cable to pass it through the other direction (rear to front). I’m stumped. I even tried AI which made me crazy. I apologize in advance if there’s thread addressing this but I’ll be damned if I can find it. Do I have the wrong cable? Am I an idiot? Be kind.
