Hi there,
I am at the stage of putting the speedometer back together. I would like to omit the EGR counter since the previous owner converted the car to carburetors, and this is a 1975 model that does not require a smog check in California. My question is: do I need to physically bypass the EGR counter? If so, how do I connect the short cable from the gauge to the long cable? The long cable does not seem long enough. I also checked and it looks like there is only one cable type used for all years. Second question: regarding the trip counter cable — does it look complete? Where is it supposed to connect to? If anyone has a picture for reference, that would be very helpful. Thank you very much for your help and attention. Attached thumbnail(s)

But the pics show location and a bare cable with all the pieces at the end. Yours looks funny.   |

You have two different items going on. 1st cable in pictures is odometer reset cable that some one added extension to. Has nothing do do with EGR. Do you have EGR in passenger floor foam?
