Well-bought! The chassis looks nicely constructed. I noticed the ad, just don't need another project right now lol. I did buy the engine out of it though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The chassis is set up for dry sump? I'll have to take another look at the motor ...

No... it had an electrical box as a breather tank.. and the engine compartment was well oiled.... The first thing I did was convert it to dry sump..

Uber cool car. Looks similar in build to mine, which came out of Ohio. Looking forward to seeing it get back in shape.

QUOTE(sixnotfour @ Feb 20 2026, 10:47 AM) *

Truly.

"Back in the day" we did not have good production-chassis cars. Various combos of suspension design and maybe Ok ladder frames and possibly somewhat-acceptable unibodies. Strut suspensions and stick axles...

So we created tubeframe race cars. Chassis made of tubes. Suspension and drivetrain designs of what-have-you and we tacked on Fiberglas panels that made it look like what we thought the cars should look like.

But today? Production-based cars are effin incredible. Who would have thought that a Corvette, which started life as a ladder framed some kinda thing with a 6-cylinder would be the mid-engined Ferrari killer we have today?

And our currentracing reflects that. SCCA GT2 is dominated by production chassis GM and Ford iron (Trans Am 2, a spec series, trying to keep up) and GT-3 has been folded into Super Touring Under with BMW, Honda, Toyota, and other prod-based chassis absolutely kickin butt. GT-4 and GT-5 is dead, long folded into GT Light which is trying to hang on against...I dunno, does it still exist?

The era of shadow tubeframe cars is long gone. We love 'em, we miss 'em, but their era is dead. Let's celebrate them while there's still some left hanging about in garages and then send 'em off to drive the historics events with pre-war Indy and Grand Prix cars...

GA, whose racing career aspirations were GT and sports cars...but no one really cares about those any more...if they even know about them.
