BAT was offering a complete set, non-oily, 914/6 set of shop manuals

I dropped out at 1300, bidding went to 3500.

Turns out the Bid-up guys were also from NH - I am in Boston and NH......

Are these available online in PDF format like the parts diagram? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I assume not if they fetch this kind of pricing.

That's a stupid price. Stoddard has 8 volume set for $355. Factory Part WKD 480.921. Click to open

online. easily available. downloadable.

got mine more than 10 years ago.

assume this is just some kind of collectable fetish for price paid.
misguided fetish?
certainly something you would have chased and valued during the 1980s and 90s.
but not in the 21st century?

Yes, stupid price. But I'm happy to say that I have the exact same full set in VG condition.

I also had and sold the gray binder copy set years ago and I have to agree with BAT posters who commented on poorer quality.

Proceeds from the BAT were to go to a charity which may have helped with the $3100 outcome.

Were you the winner? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

Agreed - having a full size, full color set of electric diagrams is desirable.

Proceeds from the BAT were to go to a charity which may have helped with the $3100 outcome.

I do have the PDF version, there are gaps and also version discrepancy within the transmission section - not sure if this set had all of the updated material

You are correct about the transmission section, you can find the info in the 911 pdf also the Sportomatic section has some of the missing information but the specs are different for the 901 box.

FYI the binders in gray are early dealer, most collectors want the maroon binders with the metal ring, which reinforces the pull area.

Hello - i purchased the set from Stoddard and am satisfied with it, although there is a gap or two (probably in the original al well). For me it's worth the money as I like having paper copies of manuals. I have seen the originals and the new one is of a lighter weight construction - not 2-3 K lighter though! i will just be more careful with mine.
