Was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this issue. When turning the key to start the car everything functions properly but the key just won’t stay in the on position so the engine keeps shutting off. The lock does have some play in it but I’m wondering if the problem is the ignition lock itself or if there is some kind of spring assembly behind it that may be causing this.

From your description I would say that the spring loaded contact that keeps the switch in "run" postion is worn out ,only fix is to replace the plastic switch, chose a good replacement as there is some rubbish out there ,good luck ,cheers. |
