I dug this out, trying to get books ready to sell. Dated 1970 Porsche/Audi. Gives parts groups pictures and information. Odd sized at 9"x*8". Printed on yellow card stock.

Very interesting, a reverse parts look up. You know what the part looks like and this book points you to the section of the parts book where it is located.

Never seen that book before. Must be as scarce as a 914 without any rust! Interesting that VW of America would have published/printed that book. Weren't 914's sold at Porsche dealers? I would second the idea of scanning it into electronic form and making it available. Porsche may be strict about copyrights, but I'm thinking VW of America wouldn't worry so much about a 55 yr old document. |

That's an early parts id book for use in warranty claims. I used this when I worked for Porsche + Audi dealer here in Austin, filing warranty claims among my duties. The group code and part ID were used for damage coding when filing the claim, which went through VWoA. Porsche, Audi, and Volkswagen shared the VWoA administrative and organizational grouping during the 1970's.
