I am stuck trying to get my windows to fit correctly. The chassis is a 1974. The doors are from the 2nd half of 1972 which means that the regulator is the later type but there are no reinforcement baffles.

The triangle windows have almost no gap at the bottom and a huge gap at the top. This makes me think that the rail is at the wrong angle, but it is bolted into the door and doesn't have the room to alter the angle.

I do have some later aluminum window rails if you need them. I can bring them to Carlisle or ship. No charge other than the cost of shipping.
Could the window rail be secured at the bottom improperly? Is the gap the same on both passenger and driver?

I would want to see a picture of the bottom of the rail to make sure that the adjuster is in the correct position. I hope I can verbally explain. You should have the Aluminum channel with the adjuster screwed into it with the round part that makes the window top go in and out on the outside. Of the screwed tab.
So when you adjust the In-N-Out the round part of the screwed part will push the top of the window out. If you have it on the wrong side, typically you will see what you’re looking at. Good luck.

@mepstein
Thank you for the offer but I am already using the later aluminum rails.

Hi, where it bolts at the bottom, you have the in and out adjustment and a lock nut.
If you loosen that nut the hole at the bottom is a slot. It should have a little movement fore and aft.

@Shivers
@HFC3

The adjuster bolt at the bottom of the rail is in the correct position and is very loose.
I just installed these windows and have left the adjusters loose on purpose but there doesn't seem to be enough play to get the triangle window to come anywhere close to fitting.

Thanks.

I think that maybe I didn't get the triangle window seated deep enough into the rubber channel. That would explain the lack of space at the front/bottom. I'll disassemble it today update with what I find.

Thanks.
