Greetings,
The set screw hole on the bottom collar of my Amco shift knob has cracked and needs to be re-drilled and tapped. Picture is not mine but accurately illustrates the issue although this set screw seems much larger than mine. I have filled the hole/crack with JB weld and the whole collar is solid. What's my best approach to re-drill and tap? Go thru the JB at the (approximate) same point or pick a new point of entry? I have the original screw but haven't figured out the size/thread just yet. Thanks! Brian |

I have one with the same problem. will probably drill and tap in 180 degree location after filling and blending the damaged hole with jb weld.
