As I understand it, there was a feature added to the '74 cars that caused a "Fresh Air Blower Motor Indicator Light" to illuminate at the defrost/fresh air unit when activated.
This is separate from the Bk/BL wired bulbs for general illumination. Looks like the wiring for this feature is simply a BR/WH wire that's been added to and just loops between the normal RD/WH wire at the fresh air lever unit, over to a bulb spot. Couple questions here - 1) which of the 4 light spots does this light occupy - I assume either the slot for the word FAN or the wheel looking fan symbol, but which? 2) Just to verify is it activated simply by moving the red FAN lever only? 3) also, any reason this feature couldn't be added to 72/73, just by looping a BR/WH wire down from the RD/WH wire? ps- I understand this is a kind of a trivial feature, but it's also kind of cool when these vintage electricals work as they should imho. |

I can only contribute on my 75' the little fan lights up when the fan lever is slid over turning the fan on. Don't know about the other two items. Yes, it is a cool little feature.
