How miserable is it to weld in a new battery tray without dropping the motor? My car is far from a clean specimen so I'm not worried about it not being perfect. Probably asked and answered but I haven't seen it in my search

How miserable is it to weld in a new battery tray without dropping the motor? My car is far from a clean specimen so I'm not worried about it not being perfect. Probably asked and answered but I haven't seen it in my search I was in the hole where the engine goes when I welded mine. You'd be doing it up side down I guess. I'd pull the engine lid to get more room and I'd add a light to the engine bay to help get the wire in the right place. Cover everything up. I drilled 3/8" holes and did rosebuds to hold it in, once ground down they look like big spot welds. Good luck |

Between making the job harder, not getting it right, and collateral damage, I recommend dropping the engine.
