Hi all,
Quick sanity check on injector install. I just installed a set of Standard Motor Products FJ67 injectors on my 2.0 D-Jet with brand new seals at the intake runners. What surprised me: * No “click” when inserting them * Only the tip went in * Final seating seemed to happen when tightening the retaining clamp They’re now sitting straight and look properly aligned, but I’m not fully confident they seated by hand before the clamp pulled them in. I can also still see a bit of the rubber seal sticking out at the base (see picture). I’ve only done one side so far, still need to do the passenger side, so I haven’t been able to run the engine and test for leaks yet. Is this normal with new seals on these cars? Should they fully seat by hand before the clamp goes on? Any risk of vacuum leaks if the clamp did part of the seating? For context, seals were installed dry. Thanks y’all |
