Hi - happy Friday all.

I pulled the professionally rebuild but incorrectly assembled (ugh!) gearbox to install one that Dr Evil rebuilt (yah!). I need to swap the whole assembly as a unit (#10 and all the attached parts) over which would be the first time I'm doing that so it seemed prudent to ask for some coaching to make sure I do it properly.

Best to do prior to installing the Dr Evil rebuilt box or can it be done as easily once that is installed on the car? Any tips on making sure I get the alignment correct?

Thanks!

I'd replace #20, out of the car is good. Shift it into neutral. There are two nuts that hold it in. Remove those and I just wiggled mine out. It will all stay together except maybe #20.

Thanks for the reply, sounds pretty straightforward.

Oh man, this is very timely! I have to swap that same part (parts?) out from one trans to anther today. One is modified for the CF Racing shift linkage and the other isn't. I don't want to retain the Tangerine linkage and not have to rework two of them.

Thank you!
Ted

All done! Man... why does gear oil smell so horrible? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) Smells like 5 years of body odor and regret.
