I have conflicting information on the correct oil filter in my 914/6 conversion.

It is a 1975 with a 1976 2.7L CIS. It does have a 914/6 Oil tank.

I have been told Mahle OC54 and OC61. I have both on the shelf which confuses me more.

Thanks in advance - Mike

Isn't the correct filter dictated by which oil filter console (aka bracket or standoff) you have?

Stock 914-6 oil tank has 901-107-025-00 console, that would fit 901-107-203-09 filter. This is same as used on 1965-73 911s. Not sure which Mahle that would map to.

From what I understand either of those filters OC54 or OC61 will work on a stock 914-6. I use the red Purolator PC 34 (901.107.203.10) sold by Porsche Classic

This is correct data. Here is a original 6 with the factory Purolator filter referenced. The car is running a 3.2. The stock oil tank dictates the filter needed. Recommendation is to use only Porsche filters, they have an internal bypass many aftermarkets do not.
