Hey all,

I just brought home a new-to-me ’73 914 project. Before I put the carbs back on and try to get it running properly, I want to completely redo the fuel system first. We’ve all seen the horror stories of these cars going up in flames, and I’d really like to avoid becoming one of them.

The car has dual Weber 48s and a Facet electric fuel pump.

I’m trying to figure out the best/safest way to run the fuel lines:

- Rubber hose?
- That AN6 braided PTFE stuff?
- Steel hard lines?
- A combination?

I’m also wondering:

- Should I relocate the fuel pump to the front of the car?
- Should I run a return line?
- Pressure regulator recommendations for Weber 48s?

My goal is basically a “fireproof” fuel setup… or as close as realistically possible.

This is pretty much the last major thing to tackle before the car is driving again. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
