'73 2.0 FI stock motor.
Has been running great. Until it wasn't. Idle issues, couldn't get it really dialed in. Running a little rough, idling around 1100. Not bad, but was rock solid at 950 rpm and smooth running (123 distributor) . Anyway, fast forward. Hooked up a smoke machine, found injector seal on #3 leaking. Ill replace. also noticed smoke (from the smoke machine) coming out of The butterfly valve (plate) rod ends. A tiny bit on the TPS side, and a little more on the other side. Not much, a little. Finally the question: Is that normal, serviceable, negligible? (The pictue of the TPS side, couldn't capture the smoke with my phone) Thanks for your input. QM |

A leak is just going to increase the idle, not cause instability. That sounds more like a sensor issue. Have you got an air fuel gauge on it?
