Dear Fellow type 4 rebuilders. I get mixed information when I ask this elsewhere so am going for expert guidance. in my 1970 1.7L rebuild i am at the step of installing the longwe and shorter bolts into the case, the bolts that will hold the cylinders (jugs) in place. How much bolt should i leave protruding? 13.5 cm for the shorter and 18.5 cm for the longer? I read elsewhere that as long as the holes are all clean and dry i can screw them all the way in until they stoop (but that leaves the question f torque spec). Haynes doesnt talk about this. Whats the proper way to do it? I am using blue lock-tite on the threads
