One of the jobs on the list is to fit a new front screen. I was fortunate enough to source a new replacement locally and even got as far as ordering and receiving a fitting kit only to find that the roll of 'sticky string' has dried out and was useless.
So my first question is where's a good source for the sticky stringy stuff (dunno the correct name). This question is closely followed by... What other tasks do i need to sort out before fitting the screen i.e. tasks that can only be done or are easier to do with the screen removed. The trim on the windscreen top bar seems like it needs to be done beforehand but they do not seem to be available. Any hints / tips there. TIA Cheers. |

Butyl tape is what you need:
https://914rubber.com/window-butyl While the WS is removed, replace the rubber strip at the interior bottom if it needs it: https://914rubber.com/window-butyl Don't use windshield clips from 914rubber though - only use OEM.. unless you want to be (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) |
