I was going to order coco mats for my 74. When I went through the online order, it asked about mat attachments. I said I had them but did not see the same ones from my car. I emailed them and they said sorry, we don't show that your car has any.
I sent them 2 pics showing I do have them, no answer yet. In fact, the same ones in both 1974 cars. They look like Frankenstein power attachments from the side of his neck. Should I worry about it? Is this an early vs late thing that the vendor is not updated on? What models have them? Or am I tripping? Cheers |

My coco mats just sit on top of the original carpets. The driver's side doesn't extend fully up and around the pedals to be able to replace the original mat so the attachment points aren't used.

All cars (at least all Ive seen, & that's plenty) have carpet posts. Perhaps the Coco mats dont use the OE posts

The old Coco mats in the "73 were durable. The new Coco mats in the "99 Suburban lasted only 5 years or so. They were kept clean & never got wet. There was neglible use. They just started to disintegrate. Go figure.

Got a response from coco mats;
As for the attachments, we had our Production Team review them, and they appear to be intended for the carpet kit rather than floor mats like ours that sit on top of the carpet. Our mats are designed with a thick rubber nibbed backing that is designed to grip into the carpet floor. This means that with our mats, mat attachments are not necessary as the nibs as well as the weight of the mats do a great job holding the mats in place. |

I have had CoCo mats in my car for a few years now and they are heavy and do not move when placed on top of the carpet. The "Frankenstein lugs" are indeed for the carpet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

They fit & don't move around. Just throw them over the OEM carpet. Attachment isn't necessary. Maybe that second set that I got for the Burp came from a bad manufacturing run. |
