Performed SirAndy's headlight alignment today. Everything went as he described. It should be noted, I have rubber covers over the area where the arm and spindle reside.
Anyways all went extremely well. I just have one little alignment issue with one of the eyebrows. It's just a little to far from one side, which makes it to close to the other side. I believe a little bending of the eyebrow tabs will resolve this issue. But, before I break something, I figured I would ask here. How do you remove the eyebrow? Is it just something you pull out, they seem to be in rather firmly. And, incase anyone asks, they seem to be mounted with the proper rubber grommets. |

My car didn't have headlights mounted when I bought it. (Race car) All I had to do was bend the tabs. in my case, even the brow itself was bent. So, after spending some time doing some careful straightening, they fit great! They pull right out. It is easier to get your fingers under it if you remove the headlight surround first, then with the headlights up, they should lift right out. |

DAPO alert! Mine were bolted in, check first.
Maybe not the PO, but certainly the inexperienced shop that worked on it. |

Porshe used the 4 rubber cones to mount the eyebrows as a safety feature so a closing headlight would not take off any fingers that got in the way. The rubber mounting cones allow the eyebrows to come loose and move out of place to save your fingers in case someone closes the headlights when your have your hand in the way. Bending the tabs on the eyebrows is the only way to adjust the gaps on them. If the 4 rubber cones are worn out, then bending the tabs is the only way to make the gaps even; even new mounting rubbers will require bending adjustments to the eyebrow's tabs.

From everything I can see, I have the original mounting grommets holding the eyebrows in the car.
I thought, there ere 6 grommets, 3 on each side?? As that's how many I ordered. I'm assuming the ones I have will not be reusable. Between their age and my yanking the eyebrows out I assume they will be destroyed. |
