Today I installed new 85 lb coil springs onto new Koni Sport shocks. I placed the perches on the middle setting and I ensured the springs sat in the perch and in the upper mount correctly. After installing the hardware on top everything looked normal. As I loosened the spring compressing tools (One on each side) the springs started to bow out and stay that way after the tools were removed. I compared the new installation to what came off the car. The old ones were bowed, just not as much. Once the old ones were removed from the shocks they did not have a bow in them and they were about the same length as the new ones. Also, the distance between the perch and the top of the old shock was only about a 1/4 inch longer than the new set up.

The only research I did mentioned worn out springs or springs that are too long, but I don't see that being the case here. I sent an email to the seller, but I thought I would get a few opinions here before I proceed.

It's a little hard to tell from the pics, but are the spring perch plates straight? They look a little crooked in the first pic.

Also, make sure the end of the coil is seated all the way into the pocket of the cap.

There is a little distortion in the photos (I was a little too close - see below). The perches are sitting correctly on the clips. I was especially sure to get the ends of the coils in correctly as one of them moved when I did an earlier install. Second time I put marks on the spring and the mounts to keeop them alignedAttached Image

@Patrick_139

The spring ends are not correctly located in the perches. That should fix it.

Who made the springs? Is the last coil flat? Compare to the spring on the old Boge
