I'm gonna purchase a set of the plastic/rubber? end caps that go on the top, back part of the doors and helps guide the rear edge of the window as it moves up/down. There is an early and a late option, and I need to decide which set to go with.

'73 is a transitional year apparently as mine has the tube/loop/screw type window regulator.. so I assume I need the early end caps. But then again, the end caps do not seem to interact with the window winding mechanisms at all. More so, it's the internal rear vertical guide that it mounts with - and PET does not indicate that those changed. There could be other changes that I'm not aware of.

So, what is it that constitutes which End Caps are appropriate for a given set of doors?
