well, i figured out all of my wiring porblems that i had been bitching about for the last two weeks or so today. All at one time..... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) At first, there were no blinkers, no brakes, erractic headlights, no reverse lights, and no power to the relay board... well, today i pulled the connector out of the igition switch, and connected a 74 switch, put the key in, and everything worked.... everything (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) I didn't think that so much was dependent on that...... the only thing that is preventing my engine from running now is the fuel pump. This is a FI 1.8 engine. I'm thinking its the dual relay, but i'm not sure... i made a jumper wire from the big black wire with the red stripe on it, to the positive side of the battery, and the fuel pump fired right up, so thats why i think its the dual relay... Also, if i pry the cap off of the little round relay on the relay board and push the contacts together, it runs the pump... something isn't telling that little relay to click...what is it??? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) thanks to everyone that has helped (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)

turn your car on...not start just on

and stick your finger in that AFM and push the flap up....

the fuel pump wont run if the flap is completly closed.

Isn't there a fuse back on the relay board that feeds the relay?

Maybe?

hold the AFM flap up, not the fuel pump....

the 1.8 ECU tells the fuel pump to turn on only when air is coming into the engine, i guess to try to prevent running rich at crankover and to prevent a backfire...also would work good in a wreck too i would imagine.

are you getting power to the injectors?

when the AFM opens, the dual relay (near the battery) powers up and provides power to the fuel pump and the injectors.....

the injectors fire when the coil collapses and the ECU grounds one side of the injectors....

With L-jet the dual relay runs the pump, not one of the relays on the board.

There is a wire from the dual relay that goes to the relay board at T12/12 to power up the fuel pump. The relay on the board won't run the pump because its looking for a signal from a D-jet ecu. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)
